Is there a secret to picking the right stocks? What should you be looking out for? Do you need to pick the country, sector or specific company? Do the financial indicators of the listed companies and the price trends give you any clue?
Pro-investor is designed to simulate 45 companies in 3 countries (i.e. Europe, Japan, USA), 5 sectors (i.e. consumer, energy, financial, real estate, technology) and 3 markets (i.e. large, medium, small).
It simulates the underlying trends for the countries, sectors and markets and presents the financial indicators (i.e. earnings per share, price earning ratio, and average yield for past 1, 3 and 5 years) and the forecast of 3 analysts (giving a score of 1 to 5 from strong sell to strong buy).
You are required to pick up to 20 stocks to invest in for the following year. Your performance is measured relative to the average of 45 stocks. This is an exercise in picking the right stocks.
You are allowed to play the game for up to 25 virtual years.
I try to simulate the prices to reflect as best as possible the real market environment. This is just a simulation game, so the results may not reflect the actual trends in reality. Nevertheless, I hope that the lessons learned from regular practice in this game is useful to you.
Read the GUIDE to get some tips on how to play the Game.
